The driver is short circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that has high output if the input is open circuit. Typical applications include isolated RS485/RS422 data interface, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, industrial-control local area networks, automatic test equipment and HVAC/building control networks., Supply voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V, Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, Full duplex communication, Shutdown supply current is 0.2µA, FS pin to select between high and low switching frequencies for the isolated power driver, Switch frequency is 535KHz (VFS = 0V) and 725KHz (FS = VCC or open), Typically withstand 1600Vrms (1 minute) or 2000Vrms (1 second)
